A bespoke May-June preparatory programme that enables students joining Wellington College International Pune's International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in September to get ahead and get prepared! Free for all new IBDP joiners to WCI Pune, our sessions are suitable for students from any curriculum, whether CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE or the State Board.
Introduction to the IB Diploma Programme
Students receive an introduction to the IB Diploma Programme at WCI Pune, learning about its academic structure, guiding philosophy, and the opportunities it provides. The programme will include:
- An introduction to the IB Diploma Programme.
- Introductory academic sessions in Maths, English, Science, and Languages
- Guidance to help students select subjects best suited to their strengths and interests.
- Individual meetings with IB Coordinators from WCI Pune and Wellington College
UK, one of the world’s most established and successful IB schools.
Exploring the IB Core
Students also develop an understanding of the three core elements that form the heart of the IB Diploma Programme. These sessions will include:
- Guidance on selecting and researching an Extended Essay.
- An introduction to Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and its role in developing critical thinking.
- Understanding Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and the importance of volunteering and community engagement.
Co-Curricular Life at Wellington College
Students experience the vibrant co-curricular life that is central to the Wellington College ethos. This will include:
- Orientation tours of the College campus.
- Opportunities to explore and participate in a wide range of sports and co-curricular activities.
Preparing for University Pathways Planning for university is an important part of Sixth Form (Grade 11 and 12) at Wellington College International Pune. As part of this programme, students will begin exploring their future pathways and university options. The programme will include:

- Workshops with introductory talks on universities in India, the UK, the USA, and other global destinations.
- Individual guidance on university aspirations and pathways.
- Advice on volunteering opportunities and extracurricular experiences that help students build strong university applications and CVs.
Building Connections
This programme will also provide new students with the opportunity to connect with peers and become part of the Wellington community. During the final week of term, students will have the chance to interact and integrate with current pupils, helping them feel confident and prepared as they begin their journey at Wellington College International Pune.
